Biography
Alex is a litigator who is passionate about obtaining justice for his clients. He is bilingual in Spanish and his experience in the legal field includes assisting in a variety of wrongful death and serious personal injury matters involving, without limitation, car accidents (including commercial vehicle claims), premises liability, negligent design and/or construction, dog bite incidents, negligent day care operations, and work accident claims involving negligent third parties.
Prior to becoming a lawyer, Alex worked as a personal injury paralegal for a decade. In the latter part of his paralegal career, Alex attended law school at Georgia State University College of Law. There, Alex served as president of the Latinx and Caribbean Law Student Association, won best brief in a national moot court competition with his team, and externed during his last year of law school in both federal district court and the Georgia Supreme Court.
Following law school, Alex practiced construction law at an international, AM Law 50 firm, where he represented businesses in complex commercial disputes and drafted various types of design and construction contracts. In 2026, Alex decided to join Smith Beer, LLC based on his desire to focus his practice on representing and obtaining justice for injured individuals.
Outside of the courtroom, Alex enjoys mentoring students, participating in health and wellness activities, traveling, and volunteering in various pro bono matters involving, without limitation, immigrants, low-income tenants, non-profit organizations, and domestic violence victims.
